critical updates

When I get a list of updates, Microsoft says I need a critical update for Office 2003. I think there was a trial version of Office 2003 on my computer, but I never used it since I had an earlier version. I have purchased, installed, and registered Office 2007. Do I still need that Office 2003 update, and assuming no, how do I get rid of the message and attempt to install it by Microsoft Update?

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) I am able to download the "critical" update but then it comes up with a message saying that it is unable to install the update because I don't have the necessary software to do the installation. Excuse my ignorance but what extra software is required and where can I get it?

I downloaded 5 updates, but only 1 installed. During installation I am asked to insert the MS Office CD, but I do not have any Office CDs. My computer came pre-loaded with MS Office Professional when I bought it (Dell Laptop). What do I do now? Thanks. Fred D.

There is a user on campus who is using OS 10.3.4 and Office v. X. Every now and then in Word, she'll get this error message: "Unexpected crital error. Can't start program." Does anyone have any suggestions? It is not a consistant error, but happens often enough to be annoying. Thanks, Susan

But after re-installing windows Xp, I have the same problem and cant seem to find that forum. If anyone knows or has any clue what Im talking about, that would be awesome. Thx *Michael

Hi. I urgently need to get access to some documents which were done on Word 2000. Initially I tried to open them and realised I hadn't installed the patch and was given the expected error. I then installed the patch and am still unable to open the documents, I still get the same error message. I've checked the version number of the updated file (Mso.dll) and everything matches as expected. Is there something obvious I've missed ? -- Thanks, Stuart. MCP, MSP. www.stu.uk.com
