Cannot send mail. Help!!

I have searched through all of the Entourage posts, went to Entourage
help page (, and scoured the Internet
and cannot find any help on this subject.

I am using Entourage X and everything worked fine. Then, suddenly, it
would not send messages. At this point, I can only recieve and not
send messages. I get a combination of two messages:

"sorry, that domain isnt in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)

as well as:

"Mail could not be sent"

Error -17099

I have checked the help pages and done what they suggested (making
sure that preferences>compose>automatically check names...) and I am
not trying to send big files or anything with attachments to provoke a
-17099 error. From what I have seen, it seems to be two different
error messages combined.

I did not change any of my settings and was able to send email one
second and the next not.

If you could PLEASE give me a little insight as to what I can do to
get up
and running. My business has come to a screaching halt because of

(btw, I tried to send using Apples mail and got the "sorry..."
Could this be a global Mac issue? I am on 10.3.5 on a PowerBook 1.33

Thanks so much.

Don't know if you did fgin d a fix for this issue, but normally, removing
the preference file will fix it !

I am having the same problem - been using Entourage for 2 years, just fine
with no hitches, suddenly last night I can no longer send email. When I try,
Entourage immediately quits. I don't get a typical error message, but i do
get that offer to report a bug. here are the first few lines of that report:

Date/Time: 2004-12-24 09:30:58 -0800
OS Version: 10.3.7 (Build 7S215)
Report Version: 2

Command: Microsoft Entourage
Path: /Applications/Microsoft Office X/Microsoft Entourage
Version: ??? (???)
PID: 360
Thread: 12

Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000000

I can post more if anyone can decipher the code. Riovan, you mentioned
"removing the" preference file. How do I do
this? thanks so much for your help.
